CEO Julian Burke reported on the status of attainment of current and future Consent Decree requirements.
APPROVED YAROSLAVSKY MOTION to authorize the CEO to present to the Special Master under the Consent Decree in Labor/Commnunity Strategy Center v. Metro a remedial plan to achieve compliance with the Consent Decree load factor goals. The remedial plan will contain the following elements.:
- the immediate deployment of 30 additional buses and the initiation of a management plan to improve bus schedule adherence and mechanical reliability. The plan will include measurable goals and objectives to demonstrate that the operational changes are producing satisfactory results. The CEO will make periodic reports to the Board on the level of achievement of the goals and objectives.
- The deployment beginning July 1, 1999 of an additional 130 buses which shall be coupled with a showing of satisfactory progress toward the achievement of the goals and objectives of the management plan.
CARRIED OVER action on the Proposed Five Year New Service Plan.
Director Fasana requested a report back to the Planning and Programming Committee on the status of the existing 50 buses of the pilot program.
